Present on the construction materials market in Satu Mare since 2002, Holcim (Romania) has upgraded its local ready-mix concrete plant to Holcim Environmental Standards by replacing traditional technology with modern technology. The investment amounts to approximately half a million Euros.
The changes produced by the investment in Satu Mare are impressive, in terms of both image aspects and improved production capacity and product quality. One of the outstanding measures taken in this respect was to replace one of the two traditional Cedomal stations with Merko equipment imported from the Czech Republic.
"The constant attention that we devote to our customers materialises today in the inauguration of this modernised plant. Cutting-edge technology will enable us to both supply competitive products and services of guaranteed quality and pay the due attention to the environment and the community we have joined. These principles guide us in everything we do and are proof of our status as reliable partners to our customers and the communities where we operate," said Albert Szabo, RMC & AGG Director of Holcim (Romania).
The modernised RMC plant in Satu Mare has a production capacity of 50 cubic meters of concrete per hour and is fully automated. Automation guarantees consistency in the quality of concrete and accuracy in delivering the exact quantities ordered by the customers. Moreover, the plant is operational throughout the year, having an air and water heating system that enables optimal concrete production even in cold weather. The newly implemented system will enable the recycling of fresh concrete residue and will reduce dust emissions and sound pollution to zero.
The working environment created for employees was improved as well: in addition to a specially arranged maintenance room, employees now enjoy a modernly furnished kitchen and locker room.
Holcim (Romania) S.A. has also offered added value to its customers in the form of a concrete user manual headlined "Build with Holcim." It is an initiative that confirms the company's commitment to supporting customers and meeting market expectations with innovation and ingenuity. The manual addresses all those interested in sustainable construction and contains comprehensive technical instructions on how to prepare and use the most versatile construction material - concrete. The manual is available at Holcim (Romania) RMC plants, as well as at www.holcim.ro.
Numerous Excellence and Appreciation awards the company has received in Bucharest and elsewhere across the country over the past three years stand evidence that Holcim has gained the trust and respect of its target partners.
