Holcim (Romania) continues to invest this year approximately EUR 500,000 in programs for the professionals and personal development of its employees. The courses included in the 2005 training plan aim to further develop not only professional competencies, but also personal and social skills.
Leadership and management, inter-personal relations and communication, marketing and sales, computer operation, foreign languages, technical, qualification and specialty courses are just some of the programs in which over 90% of the 1,300 employees of Holcim (Romania) take part. Most of the courses are developed and customized by external suppliers, and also by specially trained and certified internal trainers.

"Almost half of the programs within the 2005 Plan for Training and Development of Holcim (Romania) are internal courses organized either in our own locations in Romania or at Group level, by our own training-consultancy company in Switzerland or in other countries where the Holcim Group is present. The other half are courses developed by external suppliers active on the training-consultancy market in Romania," added Nicoleta Salajan, Human Resources Director Holcim (Romania).
Holcim (Romania) also offers to its employees open courses, which take place either in Romania or in other countries, especially for specialists in the fields of communication, legal, human resources, financial, IT. This year the participation in the open courses is much more substantial as compared to previous years.
In 2004 Holcim (Romania) also allocated over EUR 500,000 for training and development. The employees benefited from 54 programs, which included courses, workshops and management conferences on issues such as strategy, operations, health and work safety, environment, social responsibility, clients and suppliers. Most of these programs took place abroad.
