Bucharest, November 6th - Claudiu Soare, 42, was recently appointed CEO of Holcim Serbia. He has been member of Holcim Romania team starting 2000 and afterwards he became Project Manager at Holcim Services EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Asia) in Madrid.
Claudiu Soare started his activity in Holcim in the ready mixed concrete and aggregates (RMX&AGG) division as a Project Manager in 2000 and one year after he was appointed Regional Manager. In this position, he participated at the development of the network of environmental friendly concrete plants of Holcim Romania.
In 2007 he became Technical Manager RMX & AGG and in 2011 he moved to Holcim Services EMEA, a shared service centre based in Madrid, Spain. Claudiu Soare holds a Master degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and a MBA.

The promotion of Claudiu Soare is not the only one that happened this year to former Holcim Romania employees. Horia Adrian, 43, who was previously CEO of Holcim Russia, has been appointed in September 2012 as Area Manager for Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
Horia Adrian joined Holcim Romania in 2000 as a Project Manager and then was assigned to Holcim Azerbaidjan, where he was appointed Sales & Marketing Director and later on CEO of this company. Horia Adrian holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.
Another career development of a former Holcim Romania employee within the Holcim Group, was announced this year with the nomination of Roxana Marin-Simen as the Secretary to the Executive Committee of Holcim Ltd and Head of the CEO Office. Roxana joined Holcim Romania in 2005 and Holcim Group Support in Zurich, Switzerland in 2009. She holds a degree in Business Administration from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and a Certificate of European Studies from Trier University.

These management changes on senior level in Holcim that involve Romanian employees are a recognition of Holcim Romania continuous efforts and investments in the development of its staff and management. On average, in 2011, an employee attended 52 hours of training and the total investment allocated by the company in development programs amounted to more than 500.000 euro.
