Holcim donates 1,000 cement tons for the reconstruction and renovation of the schools, houses and hospitals in the flooded areas in Banat. The construction materials will be donated within " The Reality builds the dam" campaign, initiated by World Vision and RealitateaTV.

"Through this donation, we hope to offer people trust, hope and willpower to rebuild their houses. We support the flooded area reconstruction effort and we sympathize with local communities. Through all our social responsibility projects, Holcim is continuously involved in building a better future", said Markus Wirth, General Manager Holcim Romania.

Holcim donation, together with all funds raised in the campaign, will be distributed according to a reconstruction plan that will be drawn up when the water subsided. This plan will be designed after an evaluation made by a World Vision team, thus enabling the equity and transparency of distributing the reconstruction funds.

Holcim will provide the cement, and its transportation to the affected villages. The construction materials will be carried to the flooded areas by Holcim trucks, and distributed by Holcim and World Vision volunteers.

"Holcim proves to be a social responsible company, very active in the local community. Its generous donation will help at the reconstruction of two of the most damaged villages in Timis county", said Cristian Bucurescu, Director World Vision Romania.
