Holcim Romania renewed its BES 6001 certification with a „Very Good” rating

Holcim Romania – part of LafargeHolcim Group, has renewed its BES 6001 certification for all the products in the cement, concrete and aggregates segments, with a “Very Good” performance rating, remaining the only company in the world outside the UK to hold such certification.
The new BES 6001 certificates are publicly available (http://www.greenbooklive.com/ and www.holcim.ro) and confirm that our products are sourced and produced responsibly from a social and environmental viewpoint.

Under the certification of the BRE* standard for environment and sustainability, the manufacturing of products from responsibly sourced and used raw materials offers many advantages to our customers, such as better scores in the green building certification process.  * BRE (Building Research Establishment)

During the external audit conducted in 2015 in regard to the BES 6001 recertification, the products were assessed in terms of quality management, environment, occupational health and safety, as well as specific criteria, such as:

• Compliance with legal requirements
• Traceability of the raw materials in the supply chain
• Lowering the consumption of energy, water and other resources
• Contribution to mitigating climate change
• Prevention of waste generation and management
• Assessment of product lifecycle (environmental declarations)
• Projects conducted for the local communities
• Employment and staff competences
• Promotion and support for business ethic principles
