François Pétry appointed as the new CEO of Holcim Romania
Bucharest, January 28, 2014 - François Pétry, French, 47, was appointed as the new CEO of Holcim Romania starting February 1st, 2014. He will replace Daniel Bach, which was recently nominated as Area Manager for South East Asia.
François Pétry, presently General Manager Aggregates at Holcim France, joined Holcim in 2008 in his current role. Before that, he worked in a road building and construction business for nine years and then for eight years as General Manager in the waste industry. François holds a degree in Engineering from the Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts et Metiers, ParisTech, as well as an executive MBA from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris (HEC).
“Romania is one of the most important markets of Holcim Group in Europe, with significant growth potential, and I am very excited to take this challenging new role in a fast developing environment. It’s not going to be an easy job, as the economy is still recovering from the global crisis, but I know that we have here all that is needed to continue on the same successful path: talented and devoted people as well as modern and efficient production facilities. I thank Daniel for the leadership he has provided in the last three years and for the wonderful team he is now leaving behind. I’m committed to further improve our results and keep Holcim Romania as one of the most respected and attractive company in the construction industry, creating value for all our stakeholders, from employees, to customers, partners and communities”, said François Pétry.
For the last three years, Daniel Bach, Swiss, 50, led the Romanian subsidiary of Holcim in one of the harshest economic periods of the company. In his current role as the Area Manager for South East Asia, he will be in charge of the Holcim subsidiaries from Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore.
„Leading Holcim Romania was as challenging as it is unforgettable. I had the chance to work with dedicated, ambitious and passionate people. I am honored to have been the leader of this wonderful team of professionals and I want to thank them for all the achievements we have had together. Holcim Romania is a company with a strong foundation: state-of-the-art manufacturing complemented by continuous efforts to serve its customers in the best possible way and at the same time, a significant contributor and a true partner of the local communities in which it operates. With these basics in place, I’m most confident about the future of Holcim Romania”, declared Daniel Bach.
