Following an investment of approximately EUR 750,000, Holcim Romania launches its 15th environmentally friendly concrete plant in Campulung. This is the first mobile concrete plant that the company owns and operates.
The mobile concrete plant is located in Campulung and, for the beginning, it will satisfy the needs for fresh concrete within the project for modernizing the production line of the local Holcim Romania cement plant.
"This investment in environmentally-friendly, state-of-the-art technology illustrates once again that the environmental protection is an integrated part of our activities. As part of its commitment to sustainable development, Holcim Romania was the first company to introduce in Romania the concept of environmentally friendly concrete plant with the launch of the plant in Pitesti in 2001," said Markus Wirth, General Manager of Holcim Romania.
The mobile plant has an installed capacity of 93 cubic meters of concrete per hour and is fully automatic, which guarantees both a constant quality and an exact quantity of supplied ready-mixed concrete. The most modern technology employed reduces to zero the dust emissions and the noise, and allows recycling of fresh concrete. The plant is operational all year long, as it is equipped with a heating system for hot water and hot air, allowing concrete production in best conditions also during cold weather.
The number of environmentally friendly concrete plants, which Holcim Romania owns and operates now, is 15: Pitesti, Craiova, Cluj Napoca, Ploiesti, Oradea, Arad, Sibiu, Bucharest - Chitila, Bucharest - Pipera, Bucharest - Progresul, Satu Mare, Brasov, Timisoara, Targu Mures, and, now, Campulung.
This year Holcim Romania continues to invest over EUR 70 million in further modernization of the production technology, environmental protection, business development, occupational health and safety, human resources, and social projects.
