The secret of the Group’s longevity and stability lies in the homogeneous, well-trained and motivated workforce, who has the strength to change mentalities and realities. This is the reason why all the actions in 2012 were carried out under the umbrella of “Together for communities”.
In 2012, Holcim employees from all over the world worked as volunteers in social programs for at least one day, in order to gather at least 100 years spent in solidarity actions. This is a symbolic gift offered by Holcim team to the global community, in recognition of the people’s support in time.
Holcim Romania joins the over 80,000 Holcim employees worldwide in an initiative meant to give back 100 years of volunteering to the global community, through social responsibility actions.
Starting April 2012, Holcim Romania launched a volunteering campaign, during which the 1.000 employees implemented concrete solutions to meet the real needs of the communities from Bucharest, Alesd, Brasov, Campulung, Cluj Napoca, Craiova, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Oradea, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Targu Mures, Timisoara and Turda. Holcim employees were involved in actions such as road rehabilitation, reconstruction of playgrounds, tree planting or clean-up of public interest areas.
