Holcim (Romania) continues to invest in state-of-the-art technology! Only two months after commissioning the most modern gray cement production line in the country at its plant in Alesd, Holcim (Romania) has completed an investment of 3.5 million EUR in modernising the only white cement production line in Romania.
Holcim (Romania)'s permanent strive for customer satisfaction is materialising in an ample investment program that is currently in progress. Operating the most modern gray cement production line in Alesd and being the only white cement producer in the country, Holcim (Romania) has recently completed the modernisation of its white cement production line at its Turda plant. The investment started rendering results as soon as the production line was re-commissioned. With its high workability and increased whiteness degree the white cement produced by Holcim (Romania) can satisfy the expectations of both domestic and international customers.
"The modernisation of the production line at Turda is a logical step on the path that our company embarked upon as early as 1997. The plant has a great geographic location at the heart of Transylvania. The newly implemented technology enables us to meet and exceed our customers' expectations as the product complies with the highest standards on the European market. The white cement modernization project was one of the greatest challenges that the team of engineers at Turda plant had ever faced. To our pride, their team spirit and dedication enabled them to complete the project in a record-time of six months only," said Holcim (Romania) President & CEO Kurt Habersatter.
In order to produce superior cement, the latest technology was added to the raw mill, kiln, cement mill and silos of the Turda plant to ensure production of superior and highly competitive cement. Moreover, a recently introduced automation system enables production flow control and provides operators with real-time information and parameters on all the equipment functioning at a given time. White cement is a modern construction material that can be used in a variety of ways, from mortars and plasters of all types, concrete prefabs, terrazzo mosaic, exposed concrete, to renovation and restoration projects.
White cement is also in increasing demand for modern architectural projects, coloured construction items and Art&Garden projects.
